How to remove seat tilt handle to access wiring?
My lumbar support wiring is messed up, I can reach in and pull on it and it will work, otherwise it won't. I see there is one screw under the seat for the front of the panel, but cannot figure out how to remove the part that is under the handle for tilting the seat.
Also what should be my first step? Should I just go ahead and replace all the switches, or the harness?
Thanks much.

One of these tutorials for installing custom interiors should have the info you need.

Spinedoc77: I had trouble with my lumbar and the side bolsters on my Y2K. The dealer I bought the Vette from refused to even look at it. What I did may help you. Unbolt the seat. 4 I believe 10 mm nuts. The front 2 are under the decoritive covers on the seat rails. Pull the pins out carefully and lift the covers off. After you get the seat unbolted lift it up and see if the switches work. Mine started working as soon as I lifted the seat up. There is a bracket mounted to the out side of the seat that holds the wires and it was pulling on the connector so that it was not making contact. I removed the wires from the bracket, cleaned the connection with contact cleaner, plugged it together and laid it on the floor. The lumbar and bolsters have worked fine for 9 months now. Hopefully it is as simple as mine, and it only took me 30 min. start to finish. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! Bruce

Well, pulled up my seat and not sure what is going on. When I click the lumbar bolster switch up and down once in a while it seems like the motor/vacuum wants to engage, but only for half a second.
Anyone care to venture a guess?

Even more weird this morning the lumbar bolsters and supports worked perfectly for a couple of minutes, then they were intermittent, ie: the bolsters worked, but after a couple of minutes they opened up again on their own. Then a couple more minutes and they were dead again.

IMHO its either a bad set of switches ($50-60) or bad vacuum control board underseat ($320). Best way to track it down is to pull both seats and take the control board off of the passenger side and try it on the driver side. If no change then try the switch group. Have similar problems and I'm planning on trying it this weekend. I'm pretty sure the control board is interchangeable, not sure about the switches. (I have one side that runs when it feels like it and runs the battery down.)

There is a slot in the plastic ,rearward on the handle right where it pushes onto the spindle . Should be able to get a small flat bladed screw driver in the slot and push in and pulling handle away from the seat at the same time
You are pushing on a c clip which is inside the handle tube
Cheers
