2ND day of breaking in:
when i first put these on, the pedal felt a little mushy. but after driving about 100 miles, the pedal gets more firm.. feels like they are stopping better and better w/ every mile .. my couisn's set up feels rock hard.. his set up has about 500 miles already.. there was a lot of brake dust yesterday on the drive home, but after washing the wheels today before my drive, it dusts a lot less.
here are some closer pics of the brake/wheels
thanks again to all for all the compliments

looks great....i have 2 questions.....
on the blue vette...are those factory sized wheels----17 frt, 18 rears?
and did you have to change any of the brake valving or proportioning?

no changes to any part of the braking system.. we spoke to BAER and they have a similar set up. (6 piston/4 piston) and they said that their kits dont require any other modifications.

I wonder if you could run the 4 piston C6 Z06 rear on the front of a C5 and then be able to fit 17" C5 Z06 wheels on the front. Looks to me like the pads for the C5 Z06 rear are just as big if not bigger than the stock C5 fronts, although it's hard to tell. Maybe the 4 pistons in the front and the stock caliper in the rear would be the really cheap brake upgrade. Could be issues with the front/rear proportioning though.

I seriously doubt these will be as cheap as we think they will. Anyone have any idea who manufactures these calipers?
Any large multi pot monoblock caliper like these are going to be a lot more pricey than the little floating calipers that come on the standard C5/C6. I hope you guys are right, and I like the optimism, but I think we will see prices in the 4 digits for the fronts alone. If they are that much, I'll be giving Stoptech a call as they are awesome systems and pad availability is great.

Beautiful work you did there!

In the 2nd post and the 4th picture you can see PBR on the caliper...and I believe they make our calipers (C5) as well...
I can only hope they are priced reasonably...cuz there are a lot of us that posted on this thread that would go for them in a second!

The PBR website shows the C6 Z06 brakes here:
http://www.pbr.com.au/products/origi...cebrakes.shtml
Doesn't look like they have any pricing or availibilty info on their website, but I'm going to send them an email. I'll post if I hear anything interesting.
