Default 2001 Z06

Hi, I need some help, I'm looking at a 2001 Z06 with 13k on it . I've heard that the motors in these cars burn oil.The owner says this one doesn't. Is this a problem that should keep me from buying one on these cars? Also is this a problem that can start at any time? This will be my frist corvette and I don't want to buy a problem car.
Thanks,
Creekrow

Same question asked on this thread. Lots of good info posted in response that you may find helpful:

In my opinion, based on what I've read, the motors are all the same, it is the drivers that are different. The GM TSB states that when the car is driven at high rpm low load conditions it may burn more oil at a higher than normal rate. Some drivers drive like this, some don't.

While I don't think this is a problem that can start at any time mechanically, if the driving style was changed, e.g. a new owner, it could easily start.
