engine turned off while driving a c5?

On my buddies 2000 C5 when he would get on it and reach 65-70 mph then put it in neutral the car would turn off. No power anything! steering locks up and everything but when he would put t back in gear it would gain power back sometimes but he usually has to restart the car. Weird right. I dont know if anyone else ever experianced something like this. But any info would be good. And he did bring it to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong because it doesnt do it all the time so they cant figure it out.

doesn't make sense.any faults?BTW,why the hell would you throw it in neutral at 70 mph? still the car shouldn't shut down.something doesn't sound kosher.

Happened to me when I accidently threw it in reverse. Luckily I wasn't going too fast. Just re-started and off I went.
