What can I expect hours-wise for an install of a TransGo Shift kit and the recommended aluminum pistons to replace the plastic ones in the transmission.
Is there anything else that needs to be firmed up when installing this? I don't want to install anything without the proper pre-emptive strikes on potential problems.
Thanks dudes?
Mod bug is bitting again, Vette is coming out of storage in a month.
I just had my trans (A4) rebuilt by Tim Moye Transmissions. He says he put in around 15 hrs of work. He went over the entire transmission. He also put in a heavy duty 3-4 clutch pack and a transgo shift kit. I have a complete description on my bill if you need it.
The guy you might want to ask questions to is vstella he is very well versed on the transgo. He had it on his car and knows that shift kit in and out. Put out a call to him im sure he will be glad to explain the transgo to you.
I helped ENGLANDGREEN recover from his Transgo fiasco!! Its a pain in the *** install! What ever you do,,, Make SURE that the spring retainer for the 2-3 servo is properly secured in place!!!
He ended up getting a Rodney Built trans! I'm sure that he will recommend going that route!!

I think this install took me about 3-4 hrs. It was not that hard of an install. The instructions are very clear and they give you a nice video for reference. Make sure you have a well lit and clean work area. You will need an air compressor to pop of of the pistons out of the sleeve. Good luck with the install.
