Default Paging German drivers: How is your brake

Iīm currently driving a C4 LT1. For those of you, who didnīt drive one before: The brakes are probably the worst you can get in a sports car. One option would be to get Porsche/Brembo brakes. Good, but very expensive. A cheaper option would be to get C5 brakes, but are they really that much better? Are any German C5 drivers here, who can give a positive report of driving a C5 withstandard brakes at high speeds on the german Autobahn? Thanks

Hello!

Greetings from Austria!

I would go with the BREMBO setup.
You can get it for about DM 4.000.-.
Not that cheap, but the best brakes for sure.
I had a C4 LT1 with stock and then with ZR1 brakes and had "bremsfading"
after 3 hard laps on "Salzburgring".
Then I went Brembo.......perfect braking power, no "fading".

On the German Autobahn, where you are forced to brake down very often from high speeds I would go no other than brembo.

Iīll install a brembo setup during winter on my C5 also.

C5 brakes are very good in comp. to the LT1 barkes, but the brembo is
just the best.

E-mail me, if you have questions.

BTW , if you think the LT1 brakes are bad then drive a 84`L98 C4 (my first Vette).........there are the worst brakes.

Michael
