Default Nitto 555r's suck. What next.

Aight guys. For the record i think the nittos suck. I can turn a better 60' on my 18" Goodyears. Now the question is, what street slick do i try next. BFG'S? M/T'S? Anyone have a testimonials?

I think I like you

I cant stand Nittos, Right now I have the 29 inch, 305/45/18s and cant stand them. I have always ran MT radials on my Camaro before these for the corvette.

Heres the good news, Mickey Thompson has ALOT of 17s and 18s coming out for the 06 season, I keep calling and asking about the 305/45/18s and the last time I called they said end of June, beginnig of July. I cant wait, I hate nittos.

If you don't mind running a drag radial the BFG Drag Radial (biggest size you can fit on your rims) or the new mickey thompson drag radials will certainly get the straight line dry traction DONE FOR YOU and then some vs. the NITTOS you were running!!

Can you give more info? A blanket statement like that needs some explaining. What size tire, length of burnout, power level, trans, etc...

Are those power numbers RWHP or are you stock? At stock power level these should hook well. you may need to do a longer burnout, these need to be VERY hot to hook at the track.

No testimonial, but M & H just released a 275-45-17, which, of
course, is a drag radial. CCW is making them part of their new
drag package. ...just took delivery of mine. They've got a sidewall
of almost 5 inches, which can flex- something those 18" can't do.

I've cut 1.7x's 60 foot's in my stock Z06 with a 295/35/18 BFG Drag with 20PSI, I'm sure it'll do some 1.6's.

I've cut 1.6 60' times on soft launches with 477 RWHP and 466RWTQ with 305-35-18. Get them warmed up and they will hook. I'm confident that I can better that this year.

I my self prefer the nittos over the BFG's, why because they hook just as good if you warm them up real good and last way longer than the BFG's. I used to run them on the street and track. The nittos last longer because its a little harder compound but if warmed properly they hook just fine.

You have to air then down to 14 #'s or so and do a nice long burnout. If not you're wasting your time.

What kind of burnout are we talking. Last week i ran them at 15#'s. I was doing the same smoke show as the guys running 9's and still could not get them to hook. Then my brother (02 Z28) wanted to use them so i put my 18" Goodyear BFG's on and hit a 1.97 60'. My best all night with the slicks was a 2.01. I do like the BFG drag radials also, maybe ill have to go back to them. I was hitting a consistant 1.7-1.8 on those.
