There is one wire that runs horizontal on the lower side of the plastic you will be cutting. Make sure it is out of the way before you fire up the chainsaw. The wire can be reached from the engine compartment.
I used a 1 1/4" hole saw and put 3 holes in each. Secured my screens with velcro. Total time: 40 min. It's a piece of cake, go ahead and do it. You're definitely thinking too much. This is a great and easy mod to do.
I seem to recall that you could also cut a hole towards the back that would allow the air to escape out, basically allowing it to flow and remove hot air. It has been a while since I read this and I have slept since then.
let me tell you this . i dont know if the screens are worth anything. put them on my car bought them from wcc the dust and dirt under the hood is horafying. then again they must be letting air in since they let everything else in. theres other ways to spend your $$$. try it you can always change back
