Default Spongy Clutch Pedal??

The clutch on my 03 engages at about 90% of the pedal throw, meaning I have to be just about at the floorboard for the clutch to engage. My clutch is not slipping at all. Any suggestions? Thanks!

When did it start doing this? Is the clutch original?

Have you looked at your clutch fluid? Is it clear or dark and funky?

I have not checked the fluid.. Is it beneath the car? Could it just be that the fluid is low? EDIT: it is the original clutch.. it has been a gradual change over the past 5000 miles

With that in mind, here are three clutch fluid issue threads to review:

Clutch Pedal Woes--Fluid Impact

C6Z06 Clutch Hydraulic Fluid--the Chevy Spec

Clutch Pedal Woes--Fluid Changing Kit

After you've review them, post up any questions.

Probably have some nasty clutch fluid that will take a concerted effort to get cleaned up. But once you do, the pedal behavior will probably improve.

Thanks Ranger!

I'm hoping this solves my problem. I know what I'll be doing Saturday.
