Default Magnetic ride shocks leaking

I did some searches and didn't get any hits. I have one shock that is leaking on the garage floor, another that is showing the telltale film. Is this common? I also had no luck with getting these replaced by GMPP. I remembered around the time I bought the GMPP that someone posted that they are not covered. With these two costing me $1300 to replace, I'm certainly not happy. Anyone have feedback about these leaking. Common? Or am I just lucky having both fronts quiting at 40k miles?

Thanks,

John

I would fight G.M. for coverage. This should be a covered item. Go for it !

I do intend upon fighting it, but they are specifically excluded, hence my query to see how prevelent it is.
