Default water dripping on header pipe...

Came in tonight after running with the heater on for a bit and heard a hissing under the hood. Seems there's a leak (of clear water) dripping on the passenger side header. Hard to tell what the source is as sight and space are quite limited... Anyone been there? Where would the clear water come from? AC condenser?? Help appreciated.

Sounds like the AC drain on the firewall.

I have a friend whose car does this all the time. The A/C drips on his LG Streets. I hardly ever use the A/C so not sure mine does the same, but I have QTP headers so pipe routing may play into this as well.

It is your a/c evaporator case drain.

Drips on top of my ARH as well. No need to worry.

same here. I hear the hissing quite a bit after I turn the engine off after a decent drive. Seems to be the a/c.
I too don't believe there is reason to worry.

It's always reassuring when all the responses are in the same vein. Since I didn't have the AC on, can I assume the heater usage might have a direct bearing on the AC condenser drain??? (never had a puddle of ANYTHING under the car) Thanks a lot for the replies, guys.

Just got done 30 minutes ago cleaning that AC drain on the Firewall along with all the other drains. Was thinking about putting another hose on that drain and re-direct the water drip away from the exhaust.

Big Earl; Did you clean that drain with the unit in place in the firewall or do you have a doable method for removal??? Looks to be in an "Asian-hands" area for sure... Thanks, Dave

Dave,

After an hour of messing with that drain from the top and the back of the cylinder head slicing up my hands, I raised the front of the Vette and put it on Jack Stands and crawled my Fat A** underneath and there was that drain looking at me pretty as you please. Took all of 1 minute to get it off, clean it and put it back on.
