It's an epoxy-lacquer combination. A couple of tips. Buy a couple of good 1/4 inch brushes before you start - the brush that comes with the kit is a bad joke. Lacquer thinner works well for cleanup or thinning a bit if needed; catch any spots before it totally hardens. The pot life on this stuff once mixed is several, maybe as many as eight, hours if you cap it tightly. So keep it capped and you can do minor touch ups if needed even after the wheels are back on the car. Three coats work best - after two it will look fine wet, but there will be thin spots once it dries (at least there were for me but I'm no Michelangelo). I think it looks best if you just remove the calipers, support them with the brake lines still in place, take out the brass clips from the front of the rotors, and paint the whole rotor, inside and out.

Do yourself a favor- only mix half the ingredients. This is more than enough to apply 3 coats on all 4 calipers, you have the rest left for touchups, another vehicle, etc.
