Default F45 Suspension Tech Help

Dealership tells me they cannot disable the F45 using the scan tool. :(

Can someone gives me some advise please? Any dealer in WA that can do this for me?

Do I have to buy the scan tool myself?

Just unplug the lead harness to F45 computer, disconnect leads to each shock and install aftermarket shock of your choice

I am sorry but unplugging the F45 shocks is totally wrong. I had the BCM reprogrammed to delete the F45 option, and the second you disconnect the connectors be prepared. You see there are two connectors one to the Servo that attaches to your upper control arm at all four corners and then the connectors that go to the shock. Now unless you have to reprogram the BCM prior to removing all the original F45 S H I T and then install after market shocks there is only one way I have found to do it and until somebody staightens me out with proof........I don't want to hear a different way.....although I do appreciate all the people that have tried to help C5 Tech and Team ZR1......Here is the process my friend.

Go to an electronics store and purchase (4) 15 ohms risistors ($3.00). I measured the resistance with an ohm meter on each shock and they were all 12.7 or 13 ohms.

Remove and install shocks in a safe manner.

Take one 15 ohm resistor, bend its prongs and insert into the connector that went to the shock (at each wheel). Then tape it up with some electrical tape.

Disconnect the arm that connects the servo to the upper control arms, or this is where you can take it to the dealership and they can delete the F45 option. The BCM controls the Selector (tour, sport, perf.) in the cockpit so that Servo does not stiffen, thus does not add any tention to the control arm.....it is a real screwy system IMHO!. I just disconnected it and had the BCM reprogrammed.

What I did was jumper out the shock connector with a home made simulator. What it did was, got rid of the code on my dic "service shocks max speed 80 mph) this is the code that will limit your cars ability to drive faster than 80. What I was left with was a "Service Ride Control" which resets and does not come back until the car is turned off and turned on again. I believe this code will go away because I had the F45 deleted from the BCM and now I have everything hooked up as it was but the shocks are jumpered out. It takes two minutes on the Tech II to reprogram stuff. I asked the dealership to reactivate the F45 and then delete it for me again just to see if the code goes away. The dealership charged my a whopping $45.00 to do it the first time and told me they would help me for free the second time. Even if I can't completely shake the one code, it doesn't matter because it will not effect any performance in anyway.....it is more a less just a challenge and question of pride for me now. But I am 97% sure it will go away because I have the option deleted and everything (Servo) is connected (minus the rod to the control arm).

There is one more option you can rip out the whole wiring harness, BCM, EBTCM, and PCM and then replace them with a car that didn't come with RTD F45 Brutal huh.............. All as I can say is that if anybody has managed to successfully deactivate this system and has proof and directions please let me know the simpler way...Because for now I have done it successfully with my homemade simulators........I took the car to 130 MPH with no problems , spun a donut, speed bumps (ouch on my 1.5" lowered front end) and swerved back and forth violently with no error codes. Email me if you need any further help.....I have emailed about 8 people on this so I can copy and paste to you. Good luck! It is really not that hard.
  :smash:

I thought doing it like that would set codes and give reduced power message.
