I am thinking about it. Though those pics throw-off the relative size of things. The intake cover isn't as overtaking as the pics suggest.

I don't get the idea of removing needless covers in one place then adding them in another. I prefer the natural/mechanical look of the actual manifold/motor.

I understand that... I really do. With my plastic fuel rail covers on, the polished intake cover fit-in rather nicely:

^ Ahhh... I see... it does go w/ that, but not your new natural "real motor" look. If anything... pull the manifold and paint it.

i would have to agree about the intake cover.....on all counts?! i think it looked good with the coil covers, but ruins the look of the new valve covers and the chrome fuel rail.

without the intake cover, that thing looks awesome.

Well, it looks like there will be a chrome intake cover in the for sale section pretty soon.

I'm with everyone else, that looks awesome without the intake cover.

I just sold my removed OEM-length MSD 8.5mm wire set!

It looked awesome at the last dinner, Tim...even though it was only half completed. It looks good either way but, IMHO, slightly better without the cover. Either way, I'm jealous.

Looks amazing. Is there any downside to the coil relocation?

Tim,
That looks VERY sharp. Nice work and attention to detail. Can't wait to see it some time this spring.

Did you buy a "kit" to do the coil pack re-location?

Everytime I see a C5 with the open motor like that, I really think it looks great.

Oh, if you care about another vote, I like it without the intake cover as well. Either way, it looks great, though.

no. I was going to, but during the initial phase determined I really didn't need to. On the drivers side I used the already-bracketed coils as they came off the original valve covers. On the passenger side, IMO you can't make a "one size fits all" solution.

Is there any downside to the coil relocation?
I guess there would be a problem if they got wet. The passenger side - I doubt that could happen. On the drivers side I could guess it's possible.

Looks good natural like that, but people are going to start linking Chevy and Corvette together with those valve covers.

Better yet, put on a satin finished BBK or similar manifold.

Great mod.
