has there been any past problems with fuel gauge?, mine only works a short time after each start up , and sometimes not then.
thanks in advance for any help, God Bless
Common problem.......(although I haven't yet experienced it).
Run a bottle of Chevron Techron fuel additive through it (added to a full tank)......a lot of times, it will clean the sulphur contamination from the fuel sensor, and fix it.

Use the search feature. Dozens of threads on this subject. I've used Techron in mine for years.
Drive your car till pretty much empty, add a full can of SEAFOAM, fill to about 1/2 tank (or just put 8 gallons in), drive to empty then add a good fuel injector cleaner (if the seafoam did not fix it), ALWAYS fill with cheveron 93 octane if you can, after the seafoam and 1 fuel injector cleaner with cheveron 93 it went away and as not come back, it was pretty bad when I got the car too. good luck.
I switched to Chevron gas. I've added one bottle of sea foam. No luck fixing my gauge yet. I'm adding the second bottle of sea foam tonight and hoping it will fix the problem. Last thing I want to do is pull the fricking sending unit. For the record, my gauge tends to read low. I filled it up tonight, the gauge went to 5/8 of a tank, and 10 miles later it was reading full. Seems different than the countless descriptions of the assumed same problem I've read on this site. Could it be something other than sulfur build-up on the sending unit resistor?

Switch over to Chevron gas then run over to Kragen Auto Parts(or Checkers) they have Techron for the 20 gal. tanks on sale 2 for $15. This will fix your problem
Mine worked fine when I got it, and I have only used chevron 93, but now it is dead. Sometimes the sending unit just goes out. I am dreading pulling the sending unit.
Mine started only going to about 7/8 full when I filled it up, and then it started going to empty randomly. Sometimes it would come back, sometimes not until I reset it with the Tech 2. One bottle of Techron fixed mine.
This is a link to the fuel stations that sell "Top Tier" fuel. Top Tier website I believe they all have the same additives as Techron. You can find a list of all the companies that sell the top tier fuel at it. The only place in my state is Shell.
I'm not that great at using CorvetteForum as far as posting responses but I'm great at pulling information for my self. This time I'm going to attempt to give back.
I had this fuel gauge issue about 1.5 yrs ago. I had the dealership replace the gauge in I belive the left fule tank. The problem went away for about a yr and started to happen again.
I found a quick fix that works for me every time. When the gauge goes to E, park the car facing downward on a slight hill. The steeper the better but none the less facing down the hill.
This forces the fuel to the front of the tank causing the floats to raise and reset the fuel gauge to full. It works like a charm every time.
Let me know if it does the trick for your baby.
