I have a 2001 with fully ajustable spot bucket seats. All of the functions work except forward and backward. As you may know the same switch is used to lean the seat foward and backwards, that function words fine. Has anyone experienced this or know what is going on.

One way to tell if the motor is bad or not is to take the seat off and run 12vdc directly to the motor. You can use a battery charger for the 12volt supply.
What is a DTC set? I would love to look there but I don't know what that is.
The car has a rather amazing on-board diagnostic capability
that you can access from the dashboard. Sometimes the
computer can point you at exactly what it wrong, although
sometimes even the computer isn't sure what's going on.
Anyway, check out those links that in2fun provided.
Then let us know what you find. Don't be too concerned
if you find a whole pile of them, some of them are no big
deal.
I found alot in the history, and cleared it out. But nothing about my seat. Im pretty sure it is a bad motor though. I am sitting in the driver seat right now, and if I try to move the seat foward or back i here a slight click like it is trying to go.

The seat is pretty easy to remove, just 4 bolts and the electrical
connectors. The seat forward/back movement is a lead-screw
style movement inside the rail, and once the seat is out you can
have a look and see if it is jammed (you should be able to rotate
it fairly easily).
From there, it's a pretty easy task to test and replace the motor.
