Default lateral g's

A guy I work with keeps insisting that American sports cars are only made for going fast in a straight line, while European/Asian cars have much better control on winding roads. Can someone either post or direct me to a site where I can locate comparison facts and figures on lateral g-forces between cars and other pertinant info?

Go to your local library and get a stack of Road and Track magazines. You will find articles comparing the 'Vette with Porches and such. There you should find your proof.

You might remind him that the C5R's and the C6R's are the GT class champs for several years. Those are on the twisty road courses.

I believe that the Corvette will do ~1g on a skid pad..hell the Camaro Z28 will do ~8 and change

Im always amazed that anyone would drag race a Vette...their not made for that..they're made or going 100+mph....then doing a sharp turn right..left..right..etc
