Default anyone know what a 98 stock 1/4 mile time

I have a 98 c5 and I dont know what 1/4 mile time should be. I just installed a set of pacesetter headers and 3'' all the way back with stock mufflers(no cats) and a cold air intake, I will get it tuned by occ next week but I want to run it and find out the difference.

My last trip to the track i saw C5 vettes (w/stock gears) with your listed mods run with either an A4 or M6 between 13.15 & 13.80---
Without a tune you are not getting 1/2 of your full potential with your headers and cold air intake----so you would be pretty close to stock-slightly better--
Z06's with your mods and an experienced driver & tune should crack into the 12's maybe even high 11's with drag radials

A bone stock 98 will run about 13.30 to 13.40 in the 1/4 mile at around 103 to 104mph.

Don't know if this is true but got the info from a experienced corvette racer.

you didnt state if it was an auto or 6 spd, but my vert matched your specs exactly, I have the 6spd (prior to H/C) and I ran 12.87 at 110 at Gainesville. HTH

i ran 13.000@109.3 with a best trap of 109.8 and 3 more 13.0xx passes that day

A month ago in a bone stock 98 M6, I didn't even let air out of the tires

Oh, and all were 2.0 60's

All i ever see stock C5 auto's run here is around 13.9x's thats all mine did and the the owner of the track has run. The ones with 3.15 gears have hit 13.5's and the M6 cars high 12's and Z06's a few have actually busted into the 11's with exhaust and CIA. Or Da is around 3000 most of the time.

It depends on the gears you have as well . You could get an extra .2 with the 3.15 gears.

Bone stock runs usually around 13.4 or 13.5, maybe 13.3 with a good hook and a 1.9-2.0 60'.

Don't know about these "bone stock" claims above at 12.9 or 13.0, funny, no one was doing them back in 97-2000, wonder how those cars got quicker after 8 or 9 years, being "bone stock" heh

I will say I saw a guy run a 13.15 in a confirmed bone stock (brand new, just drove it off the dealerships lot that day) 2002 ram air trans am. Once in a while you get a cherry from the factory. We checked her all out, bastage had an LS6 block go figure.

So I guess anything is possible... :skeptical:

I ran 13.0 stock back in 01. The track is sea level and we probably had a negative DA that day.
Then again, I'd be skeptical too if I had a H&C car that only ran 11.9.

13.0 on a bone stock car? More power to ya, like to see the slip on that just for the stats. The best 60' I could get on run flats 2.0x, like to see what yours was on that run.

And for your information boyo, those are stock ls6 heads and a mild cam. Yeah the numbers should work out to an 11.7x possibility, but I am more than willing to admit to a .2 second driver deficiency. The car has gone 11.8 but I don't brag it because it wasnt me driving it.

If you think this guy should reasonably expect a 13.0 out of his car, maybe you'll be willing to give him yours if he doesn't.

I told him what I ran in my bone stock car, it does have non-run flats on it; even though I still only did 2.0 60's. I did NOT let any air out, so there was 35 psi or whatever still in the tires. The Repo Chrome C6 wheels probably add weight too

These were my slips from last month (before any mods went in)

I've been drag racing for quite some time, and I like to think I have a good driver mod for street cars

I retract my posts, I keep forgetting the car had a K&N filter on it when I bought it. It's not "stock"
