Default A4 Shifting

I just installed 3:42s gears, I reprogramed for the new gears everthing seems fine, except when cruising at around 70MPH in 4th(OD) when I kick it down, it will down shift fine and then go back into OD as it should. Then it will down shift again for a second, What gives??

What program are you using? I have a real nice 3:42 tranny tune for Hptuners.

I just bought a a set of 3.42's for my car and hope to have them in this weekend, I've been hearing about different problems that some people been having with the programing side of it. I'm also tring to learn all that I can so I will be ready if problems come up.

If you had 2.73's, then it will be an amazing difference. I went from 3.15 to 3.42 and it was okay. A new torque converter will help.

I used a Predator tuner, I just entered in the gear ratio and increased the shift pressure 5%. It's works fine except what it does sometimes as I described in my original thread. It just seems the settings are a little sensitive. I was wondering if I should set the shift pressure back a bit????

I have 3.42s with an A4, also a 3500 Yank converter...you are still running the stock converter? I don't think you'll get your tune perfect with a Predator though. I started with that, then got a custom tune through the Predator vendor...you could do it that way but you'll need to log some data to get it perfect. Just my $.02.....
