The instructions say to have it sucked in via a vacuum line which will put into the manifold. They specifically mention the line to the brake booster but the PCV is way more accessible.

Have the vacuum sip it in a little at a time and you'll be fine.

Look for a hose going into the intake manifold just behind the throttle body assembly on the RH side of the manifold. In the link below, it's the nipple behind the throttle body and below those two brass insert holes ... the silver nipple on the throttle body is the fresh air hose, but don't use that as the point of injection.

Very cool so I need to run the motor while sucking the sea foam into the black nipple behind the TB right? How much should I put in there? I have heard to suck 1/4 of the bottle slowly and then bury the hose in the sea foam until the engine stalls, wait approx 20 mins and then start it up and watch the smoke show...........sound about right?

We are talking a ton of smoke. If you want to keep your neighbors happy take a drive to a quit place in the country, run the Sea Foam in and wait. However before you start the car, make sure there aren't any State Police passing buy, they will think you have a car fire. Ask me how I know.

Ok,,,we need to clear things up. First off, you need to use a vacuum source as close to the TB as possible. That way sea Foam will enter more cylinders than if you used a vacuum source at the rear of the manifold.

Start up and warm the engine. You also need to have some one hold the engine RPM at approx 1000-1500 RPMs while doing the seafoam thing. While the engine is running, put the hose in the can and begin sucking out sea foam. Once you have about 1/4 of the can gone, have the person turn the ignition to OFF while you continue to allow the engine vacuum to suck out RAW seafoam. Now you will have raw sea foan in the cylinders and it can do its thing! Let that seafoam sit over night and then the next morning start her back up. Dont forget to reconnect the vacuum line.

The port at the front of the intake manifold where the PCV hose connects is the best place to inject the juice.

So are you supposed to change the oil and filter after a sea foam treatment?

Yes you should because it breaks down the oil. I looked at the oil real close afterwards and it had real little tiny tiny bubbles. I didn't change the oil immediately afterwards and noticed my oil temperature which always after a good warm up is 207-208 degrees, was running consistently at 218 degrees after the SeaFoam

Bill is correct Put it in raw at the end when you have the driver cut the engine off to get it in those cylinders.

Also, I would recommend with 100K+ to put 2 bottles in and let it sit for as long as possible. Preferably 2-3 hours to let it really do it's thing.
I now wish I had done this procedure twice and then changed the oil because with that many miles, you'll most likely need it.

OK,

So change the oil right afterwards..............but what about the plugs?
Does the process end up fouling the plugs ?

It shouldnt. I still have the same plugs in my car and there fine. Im going to do a seafoam treatment just prior to my heads cam install and we will see how clean the cylinders really get! I also run shell gas. My valves better be spotless!!

There will be PLENTY of pictures!!

I am looking forward to the pics. I want to see how much Shell's gas really helps. It is about 20 cents more a gallon here and the closest station is a good drive.

Rich

if you get a Shell credit card, the fuel prices are about the same as the local low price stations. The card gives you back 5% on your purchase. When you open the account it's 15% for the first 30 days. If you purchase anything else on the card they give you 1% back.

You cant beat that! Give it a look and see if its for you.

I always thought Shell was Dutch and Citgo was from Venezuala. I guess you learn something everyday. I try to fill up with Chevron.
