WOW... thats about all I can say. This was my first performance mod. I was suprised how easy it was to install, and it looks a lot better than the stock intake. I have only driven it around the neighborhood so far, but I like what I am seeing. I will have to get a couple of more miles to draw any final conclusions. Thanks to Exit28 for getting it to me so quickley. :cheers I think this is the first of many mods :D
I just got my Blackwing in the mail. I thought it was used with the stock airbox. From the size of it, it looks like it is assembled w/o a box, correct? I also ordered the 2002 C6 airbox which is supposed to be superior to the C5 airbox. I assume I will not need the C6 airbox with the Blackwing. Am I go on this assumption?
1Saint - the Blackwing replaces your entire stock airbox - just attaches to the MAF. The 2002 C5 (no such thing as a 2002 C6 part) airbox lid that you purchased is used only if you want to continue to use the stock airbox (only advantage to doing this is you wouldn't have to worry about installing a hood seal/water dripping onto the exposed filter element). So you're not further confused, the cold air cover mentioned for the Blackwing is if you want to cut your radiator shroud for more direct outside airflow. Hope this clears you up.
I like the idea of the Blackwing filter cover. I do not mind cutting my shroud. (I do not drive my C5 in the rain, anyway. Gets it dirty!) Who sells the Blackwing covers?
