Exhausts are so subjective, it's hard to say. What I like you may not like. Have you considered adding a Z06 exhaust to your car? It doesn't have chrome/polished tips, but it is a big upgrade over the OEM C5 exhaust IMHO.

B&B Bullets are also a popular choice (or frankly any B&B product). Magnaflows are a great product. I have Borla Stingers on my TT car, but mostly because I need to reduce backpressure as much as possible -- I find them annoying on an NA car.

We have a good selection of B&B and Magnaflow exhausts at our online store here:

Give us a call or PM me and I can give you a nice price below what's posted on the site.

You have to have a clear picture of your goals I think. Mine were:
-Increased noise (I HATE a quiet V8 car, got exhaust in <1 week)
-Decreased backpressure (increased flow/power)
-decreased weight
-Better look (I don't like quad tips and like em shiny )
-price is a factor (always)

None of the catbacks that I looked at suited my needs. A big factor us paying $1k plus for two mufflers. The stock C5 exhaust system is pretty decent with the exception of the headers, cats, and mufflers. The piping is dual 2.5" (or bigger?), with an H. I deleted the mufflers and went straight out over the axle with some nice round tips. I love the sound, it's not too loud, can't really beat the backpressure reduction, it was cheap, and the weight was much reduced.

I was in a similar situation with my 01 coupe. I bought a set of used Corsa Pace Car cat backs from another forum member about six months ago. They sound great IMO, just right. I am going to add LT's soon along w/some other mods so I expect that they will get louder. They really come alive when you get on it.

Good luck.

I love my GHL Bullets, but would only recommend that you listen to as many as possible. We all have different expectations and tollerances. What's perfect for me may be too loud/soft or too little/much bling.

Have fun shopping.

I have a Magnaflow "X" pipe wiht the Corsa Touring cat back with the Tiger shark tips. sounds quiet at cruise and lots of noise when WOT. the Tiger Sharks tips are really great looking!! It is a personal preference and the best thing to do is go to a all Vette car show or track day to listen.
good luck

Maybe if you update your profile someone in your area can give you a live listen to their exhaust. There are a lot of really good people on this forum with incredible amounts of experience. The best part is----we all love our cars, that's why we are here. Give it a shot!

Good luck brother.

Go to your local Corvette club meeting.... You will meet lots of willing friends to share their favorite exhaust systems.. YOU make the choice There are so many different packages out on the market with different sounds... What sounds like crap to you, may sound great to someone else and vice versa.... This question is like asking... Whats your favorite ice cream flavor.?. Rocky Road rules!!

I also wanted a little louder/deeper sound. That's why I chose the Corsa Touring catbacks w/Pro series tips and the X-pipe. This also gives me a little "noise-level headroom" for when I add headers. After the header install I don't want to wake the dead (or cops) everytime drove by them.

I've got a set of 4 tip (round) Borla Stingers for sale.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1752502

I love the tips on these but with my cam and headers they were to loud for me. I'm using the Z06 Ti exhaust now. That's another nice exhaust with a deep sound and good looking tips.

quad borla stingers for me. put them on within two weeks of buying my C5 2004 Z06.

I agree with others...I HATE a quiet V8 in a sports car. i want them to both hear and see me coming and going

loud? not as much a GHL or BB's. resonance? you bet, but I love the drone. idle? a really nice rumble-not the motor boat sound of the Corsas. i listened to them all many, many times before buying. it really is very subjective.

Oh and when you lift, you hear this glorious popping/gurgling sound all the way down until you clutch. sounds just like the Chevy V-8's they used to run in Indy Cars, back when they were still race cars

It's just too cool seeing everybody turning their heads to see where that fantastic growl is coming from as you motor down the street.......

Often overlooked are the Bassani's. I bought mine from a forum member when I was desperate. I'm glad! They are constructed so beautiful that it's a shame they're under the car. As everyone said, you gotta listen. The Bassani is quiet at idle, but really get loud when ya hit the skinny pedal. Kind of a unique sound.
