I am helping a friend with a clutch pedal issue, I have searched but have not found a situation such as this. This is a 99 with 5100 miles, (yes fifty one hundred), The clutch pedal sticks but only at low RPM, say when taking off in first or reverse. The pedal comes up about half way, then slowly pulls itself back down. We have tried to clean the clutch fluid knowing that this car has set a lot, but no matter how many times we pull the fluid out, fill the fluid and pump the pedal the fluid never gets clean, we have went through two 32 oz bottles. Seems like we can pump 20 times and if the pedal does not stick in those reps the fluid is clear, but as soon as the pedal sticks we can pull the cap and it is very dirty like maybe a seal somewhere is sticking or breaking down. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks
Thank you, I see you are in tampa, sarasota here so I was hoping to find out what the issue is and tackle it ourselfs, unless it is the slave then it will go into the shop.

Pull the exhaust and the tunnel plate. The bleeder valve is on the drivers side up high between the bell housing and torque tube end.
The only way to get the crude out is to do it from the bottom.
If the clutch actuator (slave) is seriously gunks up from sitting for a prolonged period with nasty fluid, then it will take repeated bleeds to rid the surfaces of accumulated deposit.
If truly clean fluid doesn't solve it, the next steps involve more expense and inconvenience. Possible that either the master cylinder or the clutch actuator (slave) is defective. A swap of the master is not too hard. Replacement of the slave is a pain.
Thank you, replaced the master this morning and all is well, works perfect, did flush the fluid again after the install and the fluid stays clean, so the black was coming from the master.
