Default how to install dipstick tube?

I installed headers today and the last step from ls1howto was to install the dipstick tube. After 1.5 hrs trying to get it in I finally gave up. I could only get it in about 1/4 inch, so I zip tied it so Iwould'nt have oil everywhere. Is there a trick to getting it in or am I going to have to take the header off.

On our 2004, I just pushed it back in and it went. Had somebody under the car guiding it cuz I sure couldn't see where to shove it from the top.

I can't remember if it had an o-ring; if it did I lubed it w/ a bit of oil.

It just friction fits ( o ring)
You can't really see it as you are inserting it... but once it is in the correct hole it goes in easily.

If you look just over the battery compartment with a flashlight you can see it. Until I found this out I had no idea where it went. Once I did it took about 10 seconds to do it.

Are you using the dipstick tube I sent you or your old one? I found out that there are actually 3 different style dipsticks. I tried to get my old 03 Z06 tube in with those headers and broke it trying to get it in. That one I ordered I got it in 30 seconds. Also you can't install it with the headers off. Were you able to get those top bolts tightened ok? Also make sure you are routing it around the headers properly, I can't remember if it went through or around them. I'll look at my installed in car pics, maybe that will help.

Checked I didn't take pics of the passenger side installed.
