The other day when I drove my Vette to the airport, I noticed that my exhaust was sounding different. There was a ticking sound coming from beneath the driver's foot well. Yesterday, on the drive home, the ticking was still there, only louder. When I accelerated, the exhaust sounded louder, deeper than it had before.
My exhaust system consists of the SLP headers, X-pipe and LoudMouth exhaust. The stock cats are used and everything is connected by a custom 3" pipe.
Since the LoudMouth system is essentially a straight pipe, it's obviously not the mufflers. Are the cats toast? What is the life expectancy of the stock cats?
The car has over 100,000 miles. (Don't tell C5 Gen. )
