i am going to a garage to work on my car tommorow and have a couple things on the list to do. headers catback and reprogram computer. i was wondering how to lower my c5 front and rear and how long it would take to do it. also do i need to realign and take frenders wells out. backs are out already.
There are a number of threads about lowering the C-5 - use the search function to find. Not difficult at all. Takes less than an hour to do it on all corners. No need to take liners out, drop car all the way to the bushings and there is still plenty of room front and rear if you are running stock size tires.
I removed the front bolts and cut the bushings, you will need a set of longer bolts for the back, you will see why when you get into it. I have a set of the longer bolts if you need them. I searched for the write up on lowering a C5 with pics but I can't find it. I am at work. I am prretty sure that I have it saved in my favorites at home and will get back on and post it for you.
Lowered mine a week ago Saturday. Took maybe an hour and a half. I didn't cut my bushings.
jrose7004, did you lower all the way down on the stock bolts and are you running on stock size tires and wheels? Was the drop obvious/significant enough to create a different look to your vette? Thanks
i lowered my car on last Sat. 3/4" drop only took like 30 min front and rear. i didn't cut the bushings, but i love the added drop. I cant drop too much living in UT, the roads suck here.
Half a day and a full supply of ADULT BEVERAGE is all you need. I lowered my Pace in less than 4 hours. All the way in the front and lowering bolts in the rear. Just be prepared to take the floor jack out when you ar edonw. A Pair of "Rhinos" and some 2x4's shoudl do the trick.
There is a ton of inof on this site to help you. I think there ar eother sites out there with photos and how to's as well.
