Default OEM AC Delco Brake Pad Break-In

So I just purchased a new set of Centric Rotors and AC Delco OEM Brake Pads. I've heard that break-in varies between manufacturers. Could someone tell me what the GM Service Manual states the proper break-in procedure is for the OEM pads? I want to ensure I get minimal noise after installing them.

Also,

I know many break-ins suggest doing braking from 60-40 or 60-0. What happens if I have to travel 3-5 miles to get to a road where I can get up to speed? Is that going to cause any issue?

I can't give you the definitive answer on that but I don't think you would ever want to come to a complete stop while the rotors are hot. You can leave an imprint of the brake pads on the rotors. I just did brakes on a different vehicle I own and I found a long straight country road where I wouldn't have to stop. I did ten 60-20mph quick slow downs and then drove for about 20 minutes to let the brakes cool down before coming to a stop. Drove home and parked the car.

Here is the official procedure for a 2002 Corvette. I still stand by my original statement that you don't want to come to a complete stop when the brakes are hot.

You will find different methods per vendors but I would have always found just about a dozen gentle 30-0 or 40-20 stops around the neighborhood is fine. No hard stops until they get scuffed up a bit.

1-2 40 mph to 10 mph, two 65-20 mph with good load on the brakes. ride for 10 minutes or so without stopping to let them cool. Bring it home and the brakes cool to ambient and your done.
