Don't know about the LS1/6 motors but Chevy used to make "free spin engines" just in the case of a broken timing chain or valve float.
Best of luck to you!

Well, popping the valvecovers off was easier than I thought... Now I just need another helping hand to crank over the car.

ECS blower cam is not a "small" cam. Your valves would be hitting pistions if the chain broke. Go buy a fuel pressure tester. You need 58psi of fuel pressure...

just check where the rocker arms are now ... turn it over ... check to see if any have moved from previous position. That is a simple way to do it by yourself.

Not good
You might as well drain the fluids and get started.
You are going to want to check the pistons and valves for damage.

But you could just see how it runs with new chain.

Not even worth the time. If the chain broke at high RPM atleast 1 or 2 cylinders will have valve damage. If you dont want to pull the heads off,
atleast pull off all the rockers, pull out all the spark plugs and do a compression test.

I still don't understand why that didn't set a cam sensor code. Can anyone enlighten me?

when my timing chain went it showed the cam sensor code 1 time only. I cleared it thinking it might just be a faulty sensor which I have seen on another persons car. After I cleared it I never got another cam sensor code. It was not until I got back to the shop that I found out the timing chain was broken.

If its spinning freely and valves are currently stuck open, I would expect the worst. Sorry to hear this, it really sucks.

So what are the new plans

I wasn't planning on forging yet but if I must I must I don't want to jump ahead on anything though as I still need to work out a problem with the P1SC head that could possibly be costly but hopefully its just a simple fix.

Keep y'all posted

If you go forged you might as well ditch the P1SC and step up to a D1SC...
