Just have to slide the white clip down. Some guys say they have done it with 2 small screwdrivers. I used a piece of thin wall steel tubing and made my own tool. Took about 25 mins. to get it right. Don't know if a fuel line tool will work or not.
I tried making tools, all kinds of things, in the end with two screwdriver's I got it apart in three minutes. Of course this was after three hours of screwing with it

It seems like they are a lot of posts lately on how to deal with the disconnect. It is not that hard. You pull the 2 lines together. Take a screwdriver and push down on the plastic tabs and pop it apart. Takes like 30 seconds. If you have trouble with this fitting, then you are going to really enjoy aligning the spine shaft into the clutch.

Yes, those sound like very similar procedures
