Default Removing crank pulley? you need this tool

OTC 6667 GM crank pulley remover

search w/ google to find one, about $70

can't get the bolt out? your impact is weak

Ingersoll Rand 2135Titanium 1/2" , nah, you don't need one, but a decent Sears job will do the job

use a good quality 24mm impact socket(Mac/Snap-On), if you risk a regular socket, use eye protection, it could shatter

with this tool and the proper impact, you should have the pulley off in 5 minutes

Is the steering rack taking more than 15 mins to remove?
18mm flare wrench on the hyd. lines, make/fab a breaker bar or extension if need be, some of those lines are really tight

LOOSEN, NOT REMOVE, the 4 cradle nuts, pry the cradle down on the driver's side, insert object between cradle and frame to lower about 1", it helps to have someone hold the ebcm up out of the way(mid98-04), remove rack out of DRIVER's side

Last time I pulled the steering rack, move it to the passenger side, tipped it down, and it slid right out the driver's side without touching the cradle bolts. Had four hands on it but I think one person can do it.

Default harmonic dampner

23mm 1/2 socket , on 1/2 inch breaker bar, with a 4 foot length of copper pipe (1.5 inch or better or similar material)....put car in 4th gear, make sure rocket is squarly on the bolt and apply pressure to the length of pipe...increasing as necessary....after a few moments the bolt will break loose. Have access to a torque wrench that goes to 250 ft/lb since the new bolt needs to be torqued to 240 ft/lbs (that is the same torque the factory applys)

OTC 6667 GM crank pulley remover
+1 on this, but check eBay first! I got this tool for about $10.

I also bought the tool to lock the flywheel because mine's an A4 and I couldn't lock it any other way. Jamming a big screwdriver in it was BS. It bolts in place of the starter and locks the flywheel solid! It made me a lot more comfortable applying large amounts of torque to my crank nose.
