elect throttle body troubles?
As a tech, you probably already know that elec. throttle systems are pretty much the same.....acc. pedal position sensor, throttle position sensor, throttle actuator motor, and a module that monitors and keep everybody behaving properly. If any particular signal value gets out of range, the DTC is set, and generally results in the "Reduced Engine Power" mode. On C5's the reduced power mode will clear after 1 ignition cycle, as long as the module doesn't sense any out-of-range conditions. The Check Engine light will also clear after 2 ignition cycles, again, as long as no codes are set.
In my particular case, I found a ground wire inside the front passenger-side wheelhouse that had been mysteriously chewed up in a couple of places. (Previous owner lived in a rural area - could have been a rodent that did the damage.) Re-spliced a new section of wire onto it, and problem virtually disappeared. I say virtually because since then, it has still happened to me a couple of times in the last year and a half, but I think adverse driving conditions were to blame for those times. Prior to repairing, it happened quite often - 2, 3, 4 times a day. It was a PITA!!
Main point: Check your grounds, and get a set of GM service manuals. They'll show you all the ground points, schematics, etc.
