Default carbon fiber brake duct mod thanks to vette1171 and ZO-SICK

I finally got around to install the really bad azz set of carbon fiber brake ducts i got from vender member ZO-SICK. Definetly a great product and a great member to buy from. Anyway, i wanted these on my car, but didnt want to put them on over the plastic ones with tape or glue like you are supposed to. I just didnt think they would have looked right. So after some research on here, i found a write up by fellow member vette1171 on how to install these the "right" way. So following his guidelines, with some of my own tricks, i got the stock ones off and the carbon fiber ones on. They fit almost complete flush all the way around on both driver and pass sides. Looks like they can from the factory! This is a very easy do-it-yourself project. Just take your time, dont rush, and just go step by step and they will come out great. Again, thanks ZO-SICK and vette1171. Check out my pics

How well will they hold up to road rocks being bounced off of them at freeway speeds? My stock ones look like S#!t.

bill curlee - if you are asking if the complete duct is carbon fiber, its not. Just the outside cover. I replaced the stock plastic cover with the carbon fiber. I did not just stick the carbon fiber over the plastic. Wasnt sure what you meant by your question. I do not have any pics of it before, but you can look at any 01-04 z06 and see what it looks like stock.

hisvett - not sure exactly how they will hold up yet. I have driven it a bunch of times so far, and no damge yet. This isnt a daily driver for me, so i should be ok for a long time. Even my stock ones were in great shape after 25,000 miles when i took them off. The carbon fiber seems to have a nice hard clearcoat over it, so well see what happens.

I HAVE A STOCK 02 ZO6, and the stock ducts are WELL WORN. I thought that you found some new CF ducts. If the covers look that good, Im IN! Better than the scars and sand blast look!

Do you have a link to the install thread to do these correctly? I can't seem to find it.
