It did not get out of adjustment where you can not see it by chance? Did it get turned off by accident? Fuse? They are pretty good units and there are not many problems out of the HUD.
I thought mine quit working, but when I leaned all the way up over the steering wheel, I could see it. It wants to adjust, but somehow it got messed up and will raise and lower....just not enough for me to see when seated. I have yet to see how much it will cost to fix.... BUT, atleast you may see it's not a fuse.

mine did the exact same thing. i was told that there is an adjustment nut on the back / bottom. you just gotta pull dash to get to it. i havent felt like doing it yet. mine went out of adjustment 2 weeks after the dealer went in the dash to fix climate control issues....i
I once had a problem with a dry connection on the slider
I spent ages trying to check fuses and so on. Turned out the slider was in the fully bright position but the HUD brightness was off. i recycled the slider a few times and back it came
The IPC is a very robust part of the C5. There are not many problems reported. However, the HUD does have at least two cable harnesses that could be a problem. One of them connects the HUD module to the IPC. It is connected on the top of the IPC and has to be unplugged in order to remove the IPC. The other is mounted on the back of the IPC and connects the IPC circuit board to the HUD control switches. All of the connectors on both of those harnesses are friction fit only, meaning that they push together, but there is no locking tab whatsoever. They are usually quite a tight fit, but it is possible that one may have vibrated or wiggled loose. Have you recently removed your IPC to do any mods (like installing gage bezels)? If I had this problem, I'd be pulling my IPC to see if there is anything obvious. Do you know how to remove the IPC?
