So let me get this straight. The bulbs from the Autolumination site are the exact bulbs we need for this swap? Please take a look at this info and make sure I am right:

1. These bulbs have the resistors included, so we don't need to worry about them
2. Will require NO soldering for the DIC and Door Switches
3. Will be a direct fit with NO modifying

Does this sound right? Absolutely correct!!!!!!!

Also, this is the LED count..right?Nope

1. 9 type A bulbs for the DIC ($3.00ea or $21 total)
2. 6 type B bulbs for the door switches ($1.50ea or $9 total)

1. Only the HUD/Dimmer uses the Type A, 1 (non HUD) or 3 (with HUD) total I think, cripes it's been awhile!. The DIC buttons are Type B, 3 total there.
2. If you have memory, yes 6 total for the door switches at $2.99 each.

----------------------------------------------
$30 total for DIC/Door Switches

Thanks!

Don't forget about the Rear Hatch/Fog and Traction Control, Sport Handling switches. See my list for more clarification.

Didn't realize the gauges weren't actually changed in this project. I'm definitely not going to do it if the gauges don't match in color.

Which aftermarket gauge setup do you recommend purchasing that might match the blue lights found at Autolumination?

On that Spdkilz website, he has lights on his gauges that exactly match the blue interior lights he installed. His website doesn't say what gauges he bought, so I sent him an email. Does anyone know?

Also, how many Type B lights would you expect to find on an FRC? I don't have the memory seats or digital suspension, so I don't think I would need anywhere near 13 of them.

Could not find what the hatch release is?

Traction control:?

Fog Lights?

OH and any luck on the IPC yet? I too am racking my brains out....I mean there has got to be a way....we are just talking about getting it brighter....what about a similar bulb as the ultraviolet blacklight GM uses? Surely there is another that fits this location and is colored?

Also just know that the new LED's do not have any polarity marked on them, so its trial and error which way they go in. Be sure to power the lights before you put things back together otherwise you'll be taking it all apart again. GM didn't mark the boards as incandescent don't need a polarity but LED's do.

Yeah it does make it a snap!

I wanted to comment that IMHO GM should have made the C5 look exactly like your ride! AWESOME!!!!!! You've done a terrific job of modifying it!!!!!!!!!

Could not find what the hatch release Fog Lightsis? I'm thinking there was only one Type B Neo in mine

Traction control:? Two Type B Neo Wedges

You're going to find out that your Traction control button will be VERY dim with the LEDs. Even with the stock bulb it's kinda dim. THere is a wave guide installed that directs the stock bulb's 360 dgree light spread and "routes" it to the button, since the LED has a more focused beam the wave guide hardly functions. There are two solutions;

1. The easiest (honestly I don't have any experience with this one!) is to place aluminum foil (or another reflective material ) directly under where the LEDs go into the wave guide. This will bounce the light back up into the wave guide getting more of it to the button.
Here's a pic of the wave guide, notice the two holes in it, place the foil under them...

2. This is the FUN one! I embedded an LED directly into the back of my button!

IPC - I experimented with placing NEON tubes in there (stock location) but it cast too much light unto the black surround surface and didn't really light up the damn faceplates as they are recessed!

I know Z06 Jim put white LEDs into his surround and (as always) his turned out great! BUT he has custom painted faceplates...

Until Speedhut gets 23 more Pre-orders the best solution so far is swapping the faceplates out with what's currently out there. You've covered the Blue and the best I've found for Red is by NR Auto accessories, they are white face with Red numbers... I haven't tried installing my tinted lense over the NR white plates yet, testing it though the Red numbers got absorbed by the lense and became invisible!

Use a 9 volt battery, once it lights (you won't hurt it) mark the + lead!

Yes, but remember that the hole they get put in with the contacts on it doesn't have positive or negative marks. So you must always test it before putting the car back together.
