hope this helps, i work for bridgestone/firestone and have alittle info. if u are on "street tires" and u "heat them up" u are only releasing natural oils in the rubber, there for making them slicker. some "supercar tires" have the same tech. as DR there for u can put (a little) heat in them and they will get stickier. just as a rule of thumb, there is a number on the side of ur tire that is called a tread wear number. the closer this number gets to 0 the softer the compound is and the more heat u can keep in them with out them getting slicker. if the number is 300 or above drive around the wet boxes and just spin enough to clean the trash off them. if u drive through the water ur just going to carry water on the track and get someone with alot more power hurt. i use this process with any tire with a tread wear greater than 150, but thats just me to each his own

Thanks for the info....I have the GoodYear F1 GS-D3's...280 treadwear....I plan on heating them up a little...
