Need Help with Key Fob

I recently purchased my 2000 C5 and when i bought it i noticed there was a aftermarket alarm on the car but i dont think it works. I really dont care for an aftermarket alarm all i want is the factory keyless entry to work. So my question is if i purchased a Key Fob for my Vette will it still work? Does anyone have a picture of the box that the key fob sends the signal to that way i can check to see if it was removed from the car? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't have a picture, but if you can read your tire pressure on the DIC, then the receiver is still there and your new FOB should work. The receiver is located behind the drivers side rear speaker.

Make sure you buy the correct fob. 2001 and up won't program to your car. gmpartshouse.com has them advertised for $58 new. I haven't seen them cheaper anywhere for the 2000
