Default Please Help!!....need new swaybars

Hi guys.

I have a 2000 C5 with the F45 "soft ride" suspension package having the small diameter swaybars (19mm Rear and 24mm Frnt). I would like to upgrade to possibly the Z06 style and poly bushings. Is this possible? What year Z06 swaybars should I be looking for where do I get them? Do they have to be C5 or C6 or does it matter? please help me out here.

Hi Tom. There are numerous threads on this topic and I believe if you scroll down a bit you'll find a few. You should also do a search on sway bars; there you'll find a weekend's worth of reading material.

Thanks for the reply..

I have read on this forum that in terms of dimensions, the C6 bars are a bit different than the C5 bars and I am thinking possibly a fitment issue especially when using poly bushings. The poly bushings have less "fudge factor" & "give" less and than factor rubber type. Not sure how crucial the dimensions are here. Please someone comment with experience in this area.............. In lets say 6 months time, I will defiintely help out those on this formum with the same concerns.

I installed a set of C6 Z51 sway bars on my FRC last weekend. Very straightforward... maybe 30 minutes per end with no fitment issues. (I used the stock rubber bushings that came with the C6 bars.)

Oh yeah, don't forget to upgrade your end-links while you're at it. Here's a picture of the 2000 end links (in focus in the back) with the new metal end-links found on 2001+ in the foreground.
