Hey guys
Question:
Today it was 93 degrees out with probably 90% humidity
I gave a couple of pulls on my car and noticed that the boost didnt get up to the normal 7.4-7.6 psi it used to but would only maybe go to 6.2
I have a Maggie SC with the 7.4psi pulley on it and a MagnaCooler
Is this something i should be worried about.
If i didnt watch the boost i would have never noticed the difference.
and to tell you the truth I am not sure if 6.2 was the actual end since I just glanced at it during my run and didnt actually test it to see if it is doing it
Let me know what you guys think?
Also can temp really effect the boost like that?
I am also going to try to go out and try to test it some more
yes but wouldnt it be leaking boost to an undetermined number?
i mean this is precisely 6.4 (6.6 when cooler out)
not 6.4 one boost 5.9 the next 7.6 after that. it is like it was set to 6.6psi
ok now it is worse.
i took it out on the interstate and i only saw 5.4 constant on the boost gauge.
it is 92 degrees out
as for looking at the pulleys the only place i see anything black, like dust, is at the main drive pulley for the compressor (the one that is on the back side tied into the compressor itself). there is back on the passengers side of the house/ pulley
anyone have any information
she still pulley strong, but at this point i think this is a problem and not just a possible issue with a gauge
I had a problem with the bypass valve hanging up on the hose. Make sure it will swing fully open and closed. Just pop the hood and rev the engine. You will see it actuate. make sure nothing is keeping it from closing and the set screws are still tight.

ok, ummm i am stupid. i didnt install this. where should i be looking at?
The bypass valve is up at the front of the SC on the drivers side. You'll see a black canister with a vacuum line going to it and a rod coming out of it that is actuating the butterfly valve known as the bypass valve. If it is open even the slightest, you'll lose boost. It allows air into the motor when you're not under boost, bypassing the superchargers rotors.
