Default FRC advice

I found a car that I am considering purchasing. It would be my 1st Corvette. I was wondering if someone more knowledgable about these cars would mind going to mtimotorcars.com and check this car out for me. I would like to know your opinions on this performance package as far as streetability and component compatibility. Is the cam too radical for road trips, daily driving, reliability, etc. Also wondering if you guys think this powerplant is too much for the driveline. Would also like to know if anyone has had dealings with this company and share your experiences. I do know they recently closed their doors as a performance shop and are now sales only. The car in question is the red 2000 FRC. Thanks in advance.

MTI as in the shop in Texas that built the Z07 is no longer a performance shop?

I found a thread in Ls1 section on this subject. Sounds like the performance work demand fell way off and no longer made good business sense to continue.

Hey Tremor, I owned a 2000 FRC and loved it, it was not modded, I paid 22.5k for a very clean car in 2002 from a Chevy dealer, I think the $ is a little high. I think the cam is going to be annoying for a daily driver, I am running a slightly larger cam on a 442 and it is border line, it idles fairly rough at 950rpm and has some surge issues w/ 95 more cid. The driveline should handle the power of that motor with out any problems. I have Never dealt with MTI... Take a good look in the cars for sale here on the forum, you may find something better with a little bit of patience. Good luck.

Rick

Looks to be a pretty clean car except the paint seemed almost dull in several pics though. That was probably just from the camera though. I have a 99 FRC and I have ported 243 heads and a 224/230 114LSA cam with slightly higher lift and all the other mods of the one your looking at. Driveability - well I actually just drove mine 623 miles today down to SC and everything was fine. Daily driving aint that bad but that is my opinion it all depends on what you can put up with. That isn't a mild cam but in my opinion its completely bearable as a daily driver.
