What do C5 rear-ends need?
Im new to the corvette game. When adding HP and finally getting it to hook, i am sure the stock c5 rear ends don't like it. What actually is the part(s) that you guys blow and whats the average fix (part(s) and price?)
On that note, what is the stock rear usually good for, power and 60' times. Thank you very much!

Two biggest concerns are the output shafts (driver's more so) and the case connection to the transmission. There are strengthened shafts available or you can go with an upgraded differential from a vendor such at DTE Powertrain. DTE also makes a brace that helps with the differential to transmission joint. The major thing to avoid is wheel hop.

So with a brace and at least a hardened DS output shaft it should be good to take some abuse? Or usually should both outputs be upgraded?
