Replace Windshield on 2001 C5 Coupe/FRC w/HUD
Been lurking in the forum for a while since I got my first vett. Finally have an issue that begs a question...
Heavy duty ladder fell on my C5
. It could have been a lot worse I know; it hit just below the top on the driverside windshield right on the windshield frame. Caused nickle sized chip in the glass and has since been growing across the top of the windshield.

It sounds like P/N DW1430-GBN will work on my 01 C5 Coupe and enable the HUD to still work to spec. Do you all agree?
Is the benefit of the Z06 glass less weight? Is the downside that because it is lighter, it is more likely to chip?

Do a search on My name and DW1430 thers a bunch out there
Short version is that the APTech and ONLY the APTech DW1430 and DW15143 are the same glass.
They carry two diffrent part numbers but in respect to APTech (the OEM glass supplier) they are the same.
The DW1514 will price out at someplace between 900 and 1300 bucks the DW1430 will price out at between 250 and 500.
Do the search..Ive been on a one man crusade to get this out.
I had my glass company bring out BOTH parts
and
they both have this marking....Shaded top...HUD rated and 4.8mm thick
