I just got a new torque tube assembly last year along with the LG motorsport coupler, new clutch, and new slave. I can feel the driveshaft rotating when i engage/disengage the clutch, so I don't think thats the problem.

I guess its time to drain the tranny and see if anything comes out. hell just pull it all out while you are down there and see whats up. And btw just because you had a new one put in does not mean the TQ tube will not break again I went thru two Torque tubes on my vette. just an fyi.

yeah i remember the clanging sound of the driveshaft inside the tube, this one still actually feels connected lol... I checked the linkage and all is well, both wheels spins when I turn them off the ground so I guess the diff is good?

I had the same issue. I could put it into any gear without clutch and no go. Turned out the main shaft broke (see below picture). I replaced the tranny and am now looking to repair the original one. I guess it makes sense since it was working fine before the shaft snapped. The thing that worries me is the that part of the casing broke as well (as I read elsewhere on the forum this is quite typical). Any advice whether this can be fixed? Or should I be looking for a replacement case?

It's just the extension that broke. You can buy them new or find a used one.

Any links? What about the casing, I guess this can't be simply welded as the casing would bend, right?

I don't have a link handy but the back part of the transmission is just a bolted-on extension so you can replace it without changing the rest of the case. Have you got another break somewhere else besides the obvious one in the picture?

I think you might be thinking of the input shaft or driven gears. What you see there is the main shaft which runs all the way thru the trans and into the differential. It rides on a bearing in the input shaft at the front of the transmission.

I looked at the broken-out hole on the right side of the extension and commented on that part being available by itself without having to buy a whole case. The broken output shaft is rather obvious and I have no reason to be commenting on the input shaft or driven gears....

Thanks guys.
So I guess I need #1 on the first picture (PN 12455042) and #33 on the second (PN 12454996), right? The shape of the case extension somehow seems a bit different to mine though.
Do you think there is a chance there will be more damage due to the main shaft snap?
