If you look closely, you'll see he cut off the Ti inlet/outlet pipe section and used expanded, slip-fit, clamped joints to replace the welds.

Incidentally, I love my QTP/Ti setup. I bought my QTP's when the only other option available was McCord and their quality was not good at all.

Update on Warranty Claim:

I just got off the phone with the DMH folks... How did they handle my question about the warranty claim on the one I have?

Simple: "Box them up and ship them us with a return address. We will get them repaired/replaced as need be, Thanks".

And these are just over a year old.

Now I know the money spent was worth it

Oh, and with regard to Pros & Cons:

Cons: If you dump the exhaust under the car, you will eventually oven bake your rear leaf spring and it will fail/degrade to the point o f collapse, so I would not run them open very often if I still had the leaf spring. Also dumping the exhaust under the car will overheat your transmission on a hot Texas summer afternoon at the road course (Don't ask how I know ).

Pros: If you come across a local "spit n polish" car show in a Starbucks parking lot, just roll up with the cutous open and see how many latte mocha poofta's you can spill and how many alarms you can set off

I have mine under the car, at the rear of the X-Pipe and under the transmission. I waited till I swtiched to coil over before i took the cutout plunge.

You really have only 2 choices, the tradition under the tranny position, or do something custom/creative like the ones illustrated above with the Ti mufflers, so that it dumps the hot gasses close to the rear of the car.

I like that setup, but put up wth the compromise of the traditional location and not running them 100% open all day.

How much of a negative effect on the rear spring would be caused by running them slightly open most of the time vs fully open?

Just dont run it open all the time

Be selective. Occasional use is probably not going to fry the spring or tranny.

I just make a point of not running WOT at the track with it open all day is all.
