Default Heat shield question. What is the space between exhaust tubes and tunnel plate?

I've seen a heat shield for sale that goes on the tunnel plate and above the exhaust tubes going past. How much space is there there?

Is there 1/2 inch space, 3/4, larger gap?

replacing the OEM tunnel plate with an aftermarket one of better thermal qualities and stiffness is the better way to go than band aiding a bad situation. Even the aftermarket tunnel plates can be improved by putting Dynamat on the upper facing plate and, if you really want to go all out, put Dynamat on the upper reach of the tunnel to really knock the cabin temps down
