Engine ticks every once in a while, and it sounds like a floating lifter not pumped up but the sound in not loud on the top of engine but if you put your head under the side you can hear it good. When I rev up the engine a little bit the noise goes away, but still comes back in a few seconds at ideal. Car keeps 40 to 45 lb oil pressure at all times, any pointer where to look or what else could make a lifter sound from under the engine.

Noise travels, so I'd get a stethoscope to be sure. Probe around for exhaust leaks, and listen to the valve covers.
How long have you had this vehicle.. When i first bought mine i thought something was wrong but ended up beeing nothing. Like lucky said check header bolts.

According to the OP's sig, he does not have headers.......and I suggested checking for exhaust leaks........
Mine does the same thing. Guys at Guldstrand (vette shop) said its nothing to worry about as some of them do that. My C-5 even has low oil pressure at 90k miles and I used some Lucas oil stabilizer which worked. btw, I just got back from a 700 mile road trip at 100,000 miles. Car ran great So unless u got big dollars just drive it
