Default how to remove fuses

Im trying to remove/replace the fuse for my air pump. I found which one it is and all, but im trying to yank it out and it doesn't seem to be budging... i know this is a stupid question, but is there a certain way to remove it? or do i just yank it out hard. Just wanted to make sure i didnt break anything.

Just to specify more, i am not talking about the tiny fuses im talking about the bigger square and rectangle ones.

you just pull straight out.

a pair of needle nose pliers may help.
