Default bummer, fried the passenger door module. and the window is down.

Hey everyone, so i was trying to find what was wrong with the passenger power lock/unlock and i accidentally shorted something on the passenger door module to ground that i wasn't supposed to. It fizzed, a burnt smell, and the windows/locks didnt work from either door. And my window is down Any one know a way to get the window up manually?

Find the brown wire in the top connector of the module, now find the blue wire in the next connector. Run a wire from each (brown and blue) and connect it to something like a cordless drill battery. You may have to switch the polarity around to get the window to go up. Here are the wires. Hope this helps!

You can open it up and go to radio shack and various online stores and buy the resistors and relays it will need.... Its not hard to fix just match the color bands of resistors up and replace in same order they came out.... also the relays have part # that you can also replace... Good luck Its cheaper to fix if you have the time....

Check the fuses for the modules. There are FOUR of them in the instrument panel fuse center:

Mini fuses# 30, 31, 33 & 34

I agree,,, open the module and fix the bad component.

Worse comes to worse, you might be able to pull the door module from the other door and put it in, to run the window up, till you can fix the one that fried.

#30 fuse was bad! i donno why i over looked this, but thanks for pointing that out! so i'm back in the original boat, the lock for the passenger side doesnt work, from either door. the relay makes, but nothing else happens. I don't know what wire sends power to the solenoid, and i don't know how to test it. any ideas? i've searched this, and it seems like a fairly common problem, but i found no real answer.

I wouldn't know where to start:o I think i understand relay logic pretty well.. but i've never worked with electronics. How would i test a certain component in the board to see if it was the problem?

I appreciate everyones help!!! this place is awesome

Do the same thing you did to the window motor. Just different wires. Tan and Gry wires.

Ok I put the drill battery to the actuator motor wires, and nothing at all happened. I ohmed it out to 47K ohms, does that sound right?
