Can the digital display portion of the DIC be replaced? The lower portion of my cluster containing the digital display that shows the Welcome Corvette and Service Column Lock message became scrambled. Ordered replacement cluster that is working fine, but wonder if new digital display could be moved to old cluster thus retaining my original mileage?

Im sure it can BUT, If you have the scrambled display, I would FIRST try to reset the disply tube into it scoket on the board and see if that resolves the issue. There are a LOT of ribbon connectors and module pins in the board that can have a poor connetction.

Its been a while. What is the status of your display. Did you get a chance to take it apart and check it out

Just been looking around at things I can do yo increase performance The car originally was from Houston and Santa Fe is 7000' feet + altitude. Car runs great and great mileage, just wish it was a little more responsive at the gas pedal. Has a slight not what I'd call a stall, just not a real snappy response - like. a hesitance and as I said not quite responsive. Thought some tunes might help from a Diablo Predator, HPP III or a Vinci Crane Cams Pwermax I just picked up unmarried for $60.
As for the cluster, I had a couple of inquiries on how much I'd charge to swap our that eeprom, but without a test setup or vehicle it's impossible to know if the transfer was successful since the eeprom could get heat damaged. Not likely, but still a possibility I wouldn't want the responsibility for. I certainly does the job of retaining your factory miles in a new cluster though. Happy Holidays!

Excellent.. Glad to see that you had sucess with the cluster!! Thanks for the feed back.

So, you want more throttle response. I will send you a PM. Lets talk.

Default DIC Mods

I am looking to do a mod with the DIC PCB for my race-car only application. Basically, I want to be able to integrate the gas gauge output from the DIC - which is output by the PCM via serial Data to the DIC, it already combines the levels of the 2 tanks (with appropriate data smoothing/damping).

First question - each stepper motor on the dash has 4 traces leading to it. Does anyone know what those 4 are? Is there a light for the needle (+/-) and a signal for the stepper motor (+/-). Is the signal for the stepper motor 0-5V? I’d like to tap it as an analog input to my AIM data system.

Second, I want to have the ABS warning light available, to notify me if the ABS has a problem (yes I’ve been out on track without ABS and found out later that it was disabled). I think accessing this is going to be fairly easy, I see traces for +/- to the ABS light on the display.

What does the inverter in the lower left picture on the breakout board do? Can I get the analog functions without it? Does it drive the DIC display?
