I have had my TT 650 for about two months and hardly anyone has even noticed that it was not stock let alone want to race. Well last night I had my first taker. I spotted a silver GTS with a huge rear wing at a gas station, I waited for him to pull out and then I pulled up beside him. We both rolled down our windows and he said, "You think you can take it"....... I said "yeah". Traffic was pretty heavy so I suggested that we go to the freeway (4-5 lanes and straight). Let me say that this Viper looked awesome especially from the rear, with those huge tires and the wing. Later I found out that he had a few mods and he thought mine was stock (he-he). We went form about 65mph the first time, I pulled him by about 5 car lengths. I was watching him instead of watching the tach, I hit the rev limiter and had to let off. He caught up within a car length and I shifted to 4th and pulled out another 5 car lengths, we had to slow because of traffic. After the traffic was clear we went again, same speed, this time no rev limiter, 3rd-4th and into 5th at about 150 or so... I looked back and I had at least 10 car lengths. I was even suprised at the ease at which I was able to walk him. We pulled of the freeway and talked for a while after that (nice guy). He invited me to some viper events, so that was cool..... I have done some things in the past with the viper club and have found them to nice and receptive to Corvette owners. Hope you enjoyed the story- chalk another one up for the Vette!!!!!!

Fun fun fun!

I had fun yesterday. After returning from dragstrip I spotted a viper (looked stock). I pulled up behind him and proceeded to run with him. He never could pull an inch on me and I was slowly creeping on him. I exited the hightway and turned around to head home and there was a saleen mustang!!! Woohoo. I got on his tail but he was WAY too easy- I left him way behind.

Congrats on your awesome turbo car dude. I have to live with my meager heads & cam but it makes me happy :)

Let me fill you guys in on something else. Two of my best friends have now had two 02 Z06's and 2 01 Vipers (one RT10, one GTS). In second and third gear roll-ons up to 110-120 mph, the Z06 has not lost yet - that's two different Z06's agains two different Vipers. Above 100, they both say the Viper starts closing in.
