Default Heads?

Alright I got a question I'm confused about

I've heard, and have seen on videos, that people put escalade heads on their c5's

And have heard they give out a better flow than some performance heads.

I'm asking cause there is a guy on craigslist selling a longblock and I was thinkin about pickin up the heads, its the 6.0L

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this? If so help me out

Thanks...

Most put them on for the larger combustion chambers when going FI to drop CR I believe. I think they are around 72 cc or something like that(not 100% sure). They flow like 243s from what I've heard.

The 317 6.0 heads are basically large chamber versions of the 243 Z06 heads.

The larger 71cc combustion chamber lowers the compression ratio, which is what made them desirable and commonly used on FI applications.

They may flow better than stock LS1 heads, but for a naturally aspirated engine, the loss of compression is a step in the wrong direction.

Not worth it unless your going FI. If staying NA pick up some 243s for a little more.

Ok, these guys keep telling you to stay away from these heads unless you plan on going FI......it doesn't matter how inexpensive the heads are.

Do you understand why they are trying to steer you away from buying these heads for a N/A car?

Pass. If anything you can get 243s for $350-450. If you are just going to do a 125 shot and no other mods you may just want to leave the heads alone.
